About ScanWerk

Most people who scan a QR code end up in an app that also reads contacts, history or location — or on a landing page that sells a subscription before showing a result. The underlying problem is actually solved: a browser can decode QR codes and more than a dozen barcode symbologies in real time.

So the application is built as a tool, not a funnel. The scanner sits in the first viewport, results are parsed locally and never sent to a server. What we count is format and category, not what your code contained.

Content derives from the implementation: every claim about check digits, GS1 identifiers or camera behaviour can be traced in the code or the application. Where we cannot do something — resolving a GTIN to a product name, for example — we say so instead of linking a pseudo-solution.

The editorial team reviews every page before publication: is the title a real search intent? Does the copy explain what users actually see? Is the language complete and editorially checked? Only approved versions go live.
